Publish to PrestaShop

Install the free ProjectHQ module in your PrestaShop store and paste its token, and your articles publish into your shop's blog with their images.

Run a PrestaShop store? Install the free ProjectHQ module once and your articles publish into your shop's blog, images included. PrestaShop has no blog of its own, so the module either adds a blog section to your shop or files the articles into the blog module you already use.

Before you start

  • You need access to your shop's back office with permission to install modules.
  • The module is made for PrestaShop 1.7 and 8.

Step 1: install the module

  1. In ProjectHQ, open your blog's Settings → Publishing and choose PrestaShop (see Publish to your website).
  2. Under Install the module, click Download the module to get the zip.
  3. In your shop's back office, open Modules → Module Manager → Upload a module and pick the zip.
  4. Open the module's Configure screen and copy the Token it shows you.
  5. Back in ProjectHQ, click Next.
The PrestaShop connect form, step 1 Install the module: why a module is needed, four steps, the Download the module button and Next

Step 2: choose where articles go in your shop

On the module's Configure screen in PrestaShop, Publish articles to decides where ProjectHQ's articles are filed:

  • ProjectHQ blog section — for a shop without a blog. The module adds one, at the address set in Blog path (blog unless you change it — pick one that no other page or module already uses).
  • Your existing blog — if your shop already runs a blog module, ProjectHQ's articles appear among your own posts.

Click Save in the module.

Step 3: connect your shop

  1. In ProjectHQ, enter your shop's public address — not the back office address.
  2. Paste the token.
  3. Click Connect & verify.
Step 2 Connect your shop: the shop address field with https://shop.example.com, the token field, and Connect & verify

When it works, the top of the section shows your shop's name, Connected, where the module files the posts and the module version:

A connected shop: Example Shop, Connected, ProjectHQ blog section, Module 1.0.0, with Test connection, Update credentials, Disconnect and Where readers see it

The token is stored encrypted.

Where readers see your articles

ProjectHQ links to your articles using the blog address the module reports. If your posts appear somewhere else, enter that address under Where readers see it; leave it empty to keep the module's.

What gets published

  • A post in your shop's blog when you click Publish in ProjectHQ (or on the article's scheduled date).
  • Images — the cover and every image in the article — are uploaded to your shop.
  • Updates: after you edit a live article in ProjectHQ, click Push update to PrestaShop in the editor. The same post is updated.
  • Unpublishing in ProjectHQ hides the post in your shop; it stays there, so publishing again updates the same post.
  • Your own posts are safe: the module only ever changes posts it created.

Good to know

  • New token: Generate a new token in the module stops publishing until you paste the new token into ProjectHQ (Update credentials).
  • Destination unavailable: if the module says the selected destination is not usable (for example, the blog module it writes to was disabled), pick another one under Publish articles to — publishing fails until you do.
  • Analytics: the module can also add the ProjectHQ tracking script to every page of your shop (Add the tracker to my shop). Its analytics switches are off until you turn them on, and they're independent of publishing. If you've already pasted the script into your theme, leave Add the tracker to my shop off — see Install the tracking script.
