Analytics
What ProjectHQ Analytics shows — traffic, observations, live activity, conversions, audience and crawlers — and where to start.
ProjectHQ Analytics shows who visits your website, where they come from, what they read and which visits turn into signups and sales. It's built into your project, so there's nothing else to sign up for. The same tracking script also runs your chat widget and recognises returning visitors.
Before you start
Analytics starts counting once the tracking script is on your site. If you haven't added it yet, follow Install the tracking script. It takes about two minutes. Until the first visit arrives, the Analytics page shows how to install it instead of the reports.
What you'll find in Analytics
- Traffic at a glance. Visitors, revenue, conversion rate, bounce rate and visit duration, with the change against the previous period and a chart you can switch between metrics.
- Observations. ProjectHQ flags spikes, drops, new referrers and record days right on the chart and says what caused them.
- Live activity. Who's on your site right now and what they're doing.
- Conversions. Funnels, goals and revenue: which traffic actually turns into customers.
- Acquisition and audience. Sources, campaigns, pages, countries, devices, individual visitors and how many come back week after week.
- Bots and crawlers. Search engines and AI crawlers reading your site, kept separate from your human visitors.
Every number on the page counts people. Bots and suspicious browsers are left out and reported separately at the bottom of the page.
Pages in this section
- Read your analytics: the chart, observations, filters, saved views and every report on the page.
- Goals and funnels: count the actions that matter and see where people drop out.
- Track events and identify visitors: send your own events and tell ProjectHQ who a visitor is.
- Track revenue and costs: report sales, refunds, per-customer costs and ad spend.
- See AI and search crawlers: which bots read your site, including the ones a script can't see.
- Share your stats: live counters for your own pages and a public dashboard.
Tip: All Analytics settings (domains, installation, funnels, goals, revenue and sharing) live in one place. On the Analytics page, click Analytics settings (the gear on the right), or open Settings and choose Analytics.
