Webflow posts get their author and category filled in for you

When you publish to Webflow, each post now gets the right author and the best fitting category, and you see the live link as soon as it's up.

If your Webflow blog has an author or category field, you used to have to pick one value for every post. Now each post gets its own.

The author is whoever is credited on the article. If they're already in your Webflow authors collection, we use them, and if not, we add them. If nobody is credited, the post goes out under the project owner. For a category, topic or tags field, each new post gets the option that fits it best from the ones you already have. Updating the post later leaves it alone.

You set this up once in the Webflow field mapping, in your publication's publishing settings. Pick The article's author for the author field and The best fit for each article for the category. If you saved a fixed value before, it stays until you change it.

Publishing got clearer as well. After you click Publish, the window stays open until the post is live, then shows you its address with Copy URL and Open. If Webflow turns the post down, you'll see why and can Try again. It works the same way for the other platforms we publish to.

We also fixed two smaller things. A post keeps its own address even if another item in the collection already uses the same slug, and a required intro field now gets the article's first paragraph.
